Everyone belongs in the saddle

Therapeutic riding offers physical, emotional, and social benefits for individuals with a wide range of needs. The movement of the horse helps improve balance, coordination, muscle strength, and posture. Beyond the physical effects, interacting with horses can build confidence, reduce stress, and support emotional well-being. Riders also develop communication skills, patience, and a sense of accomplishment, making therapeutic riding a meaningful and engaging form of therapy.

Building Skills and Having Fun

Equine assisted learning helps individuals develop important life skills through guided interactions with horses. Working with horses encourages self-awareness, confidence, communication, and problem-solving. Because horses respond honestly to human behavior and emotions, participants gain immediate feedback that supports personal growth and emotional regulation. The experience also promotes teamwork, trust, and resilience in a supportive and engaging environment.

Where Horses Do the Teaching

Horses are powerful teachers because they communicate honestly and respond to human behavior in the moment. As sensitive animals, they pick up on body language, energy, and emotions, providing immediate and non-judgmental feedback. Through working with horses, people can learn patience, clear communication, confidence, and self-awareness. Their calm presence and natural instincts create meaningful opportunities for personal growth and learning.

Your questions, our answers

Explore common questions about our therapeutic riding program, what to expect, and how we create a welcoming space for every rider.

Who can join your riding sessions?

Our doors are open to children, teens, and adults with physical or developmental disabilities, as well as youth who need extra support. Every session is personalized so everyone feels valued and included.

What happens at my first visit?

You’ll meet our caring team and your horse, get a gentle introduction to safety, and have all your questions answered. We’ll make sure you feel at ease before you ride.

Is riding experience required?

No experience needed! Our instructors guide you step by step, whether you’re new to horses or have ridden before. We help you build confidence at your own pace.

How do you keep riders safe?

Safety comes first. Certified instructors and trained volunteers lead every session. We provide helmets, adaptive gear, and pair you with calm, gentle horses.

What should I wear or bring?

Wear comfy clothes and closed-toe shoes with a small heel. Helmets are provided, but you can bring your own. A water bottle and a positive spirit are always welcome!

How can I volunteer or help?

We’re always excited to welcome new volunteers! Whether you have horse experience or just want to support, we’ll guide you through training and help you find your place.
